40+ Core Web Vitals Statistics for 2026
Last updated: October 2026
Core Web Vitals decide how Google and real users judge page experience. Agencies still get green desktop screenshots while multi-page mobile lab samples tell a different story: Performance medians in the 40s–50s, lab LCP far past 2.5 s, and unused JavaScript on almost every storefront.
We collected the most useful Core Web Vitals statistics for 2026 from Apogee Watcher’s own multi-page PageSpeed Insights cohorts (Shopify, Magento, fashion/apparel) plus dated public context from Google and platform research. Numbered superscripts cite sources in the References section; every figure is dated so you know when it was measured. Lab averages are not CrUX pass/fail claims.
Key takeaways
- A multi-page lab sample of 64 Shopify stores showed a median mobile Lighthouse Performance of 51 — and 0 of 64 store averages met lab LCP ≤ 2.5 s 1
- Verified Magento users (n = 76) landed a median mobile Performance of 58 with median lab LCP of 8.2 s; unused JavaScript appeared on 72 of 76 stores 2
- Fashion and apparel leads (n = 53) sat lower still: median mobile Performance 47, median lab LCP 9.5 s 3
- Median Attention-Free Score across 76 Magento stores was only 4%; 34 stores scored 0% and none reached 100% 2
- Google’s good Core Web Vitals thresholds remain LCP ≤ 2.5 s, INP ≤ 200 ms, and CLS ≤ 0.1 at p75 6
- Shopify’s theme table median for “all CWVs” sat near 82% in mid-August 2026 — a field/theme view that often looks healthier than multi-page lab averages on the same platforms 8
Google thresholds and field context
- Google’s good Core Web Vitals thresholds are unchanged: LCP ≤ 2.5 s, INP ≤ 200 ms, and CLS ≤ 0.1 at the 75th percentile 6
- An origin or URL group passes Core Web Vitals when all three metrics sit in the good bucket at p75 6
- A Lighthouse Performance score is a lab composite under throttling — useful for regression detection, not a substitute for a CrUX pass 4
- Chrome UX Report (CrUX) field data comes from eligible Chrome users on publicly discoverable pages with enough traffic; thresholds are read at p75 over a rolling window 7
- As of the 18 Aug 2026 Shopify theme table update, median theme-level pass rates were about 90.3% LCP, 93.4% CLS, 97.1% INP, and 82.0% all CWVs 8
- Store2x’s July 2026 shop-system comparison placed Magento near the bottom of the pack on all Core Web Vitals: about 51.9% of Magento origins passed all three on mobile (n ≈ 28,500) 9
Shopify Core Web Vitals statistics
Apogee Watcher analysed the latest domain report per Shopify-tagged lead with an aggregated payload (n = 64 stores; April–September 2026). Each report averages Lighthouse across the URLs selected for that domain (median 17 pages; 1,070 page runs). Values are store-level lab averages, not single-URL CrUX p75s.
- Median mobile Lighthouse Performance across 64 Shopify stores was 51 1
- Median desktop Lighthouse Performance in the same sample was 69 1
- Only 32 of 64 Shopify stores cleared a mobile Performance average of 50 1
- Only 9 of 64 Shopify stores cleared a mobile Performance average of 70 1
- None of 64 Shopify store-level mobile Performance averages reached 90 1
- Median mobile lab LCP across 64 Shopify stores was 9.8 seconds (75th percentile 14.5 s) 1
- 0 of 64 Shopify store averages met mobile lab LCP ≤ 2.5 s 1
- Median mobile lab INP across 64 Shopify stores was 0.30 seconds; only 15 of 64 averaged ≤ 0.20 s 1
- Median mobile lab CLS across 64 Shopify stores was 0.02; 55 of 64 averaged ≤ 0.1 1
- Where mobile origin CrUX overall category was present (n = 27), Watcher saw 14 FAST, 8 AVERAGE, and 5 SLOW 1
- Unused JavaScript appeared on 61 of 64 Shopify stores in the latest mobile opportunity list; unused CSS on 52 of 64 1
Magento Core Web Vitals statistics
Apogee Watcher took the latest domain report per Magento-verified user after a strong-signal platform check (n = 76 stores with aggregated reports; late August–mid September 2026). Median 13 analysed pages per store; 1,195 page runs. Verification required Magento-specific evidence; false-positive platform labels were excluded.
- Median mobile Lighthouse Performance across 76 Magento stores was 58 2
- Median desktop Lighthouse Performance in the same sample was 75 2
- 48 of 76 Magento stores cleared a mobile Performance average of 50; 19 of 76 cleared 70 2
- Only 1 of 76 Magento store-level mobile Performance averages reached 90 2
- Median mobile lab LCP across 76 Magento stores was 8.2 seconds (75th percentile 12.6 s) 2
- Only 2 of 76 Magento store averages met mobile lab LCP ≤ 2.5 s 2
- Median mobile lab INP across 76 Magento stores was 0.22 seconds; 34 of 76 averaged ≤ 0.20 s 2
- Median mobile lab CLS across 76 Magento stores was 0.027; 63 of 76 averaged ≤ 0.1 2
- Where mobile origin CrUX overall was present (n = 46), Watcher saw 15 FAST, 18 AVERAGE, and 13 SLOW 2
- Unused JavaScript appeared on 72 of 76 Magento stores; unused CSS on 66 of 76 2
- Compared with Watcher’s Shopify sample (median mobile Performance ~51 on 64 stores), this Magento set landed about six points higher on the Performance dial while still failing Perf ≥ 90 almost everywhere 2
Fashion ecommerce Core Web Vitals statistics
Apogee Watcher took the latest domain report per lead classified fashion_apparel after sector QA (n = 53 stores; late August–mid September 2026). Median 12 analysed pages per store; 836 page runs. The cohort is Shopify-heavy (28 of 53).
- Median mobile Lighthouse Performance across 53 fashion stores was 47 3
- Median desktop Lighthouse Performance in the same sample was 64 3
- Only 25 of 53 fashion stores cleared a mobile Performance average of 50; 5 of 53 cleared 70 3
- None of 53 fashion store-level mobile Performance averages reached 90 3
- Median mobile lab LCP across 53 fashion stores was 9.5 seconds (75th percentile 14.0 s) 3
- 0 of 53 fashion store averages met mobile lab LCP ≤ 2.5 s 3
- Median mobile lab INP across 53 fashion stores was 0.29 seconds; 14 of 53 averaged ≤ 0.20 s 3
- Median mobile lab CLS across 53 fashion stores was 0.022; 41 of 53 averaged ≤ 0.1 3
- Where mobile origin CrUX overall was present (n = 39), Watcher saw 19 FAST, 16 AVERAGE, and 4 SLOW 3
- Unused JavaScript appeared on 51 of 53 fashion stores; unused CSS on 47 of 53 3
- Versus Shopify (~51) and Magento (~58) Watcher medians, this fashion set landed lower on the Performance dial while sharing the same structural pattern: LCP and unused JS dominate the backlog 3
Attention-Free Score statistics
Attention-Free Score is Watcher’s triage dial: the share of completed page×device tests that pass all lab gates at once (Performance ≥ 90, Accessibility / Best Practices / SEO ≥ 80, LCP ≤ 2.5 s, CLS ≤ 0.1, INP ≤ 0.2 s with Total Blocking Time as fallback when INP is missing). 100% means no page needs attention on either strategy.
- Median Attention-Free Score across 76 verified Magento stores was 4% 2
- The Magento Attention-Free distribution ran from 0% (minimum and 25th percentile) to 71% (maximum), with a mean of 11% 2
- None of 76 Magento stores reached an Attention-Free Score of 100% 2
- 34 of 76 Magento stores scored 0%; 49 were under 10% 2
- Only 2 of 76 Magento stores cleared 50% Attention-Free (71% and 61%) 2
- Across 2,325 completed Magento page×device runs, only 12% were fully clear of every lab gate 2
- Performance was the most common top gap on Magento Attention-Free scoreboards (66 of 76 stores) 2
- In the 53-store fashion sample, none cleared a mobile Performance average of 90 and none cleared a mobile LCP average of 2.5 s under the same gate framing 3
- Only 14 of 53 fashion stores cleared an INP average of 0.2 s even though 41 of 53 cleared CLS ≤ 0.1 on store averages 3

What these numbers mean for agencies in 2026
Three patterns cut across every Watcher cohort. First, multi-page lab averages and origin CrUX are different clocks. Shopify theme tables and Magento population CrUX can look mid-pack or healthy while store-level lab LCP still sits in the 8–10 s range — that is a remediation queue, not a contradiction. Second, unused JavaScript is the default ecommerce finding (61/64 Shopify, 72/76 Magento, 51/53 fashion): apps, themes, and widgets compete for the same main thread INP and TBT care about. Third, Attention-Free Score exposes portfolio triage that a single Performance average hides — a median of 4% on Magento means almost every page×device run still fails at least one lab gate.
Teams that win treat Core Web Vitals as a scheduled portfolio channel: lock money-path URLs, keep lab and field in separate columns, alert on LCP and Performance drift, and report cohort medians instead of one green screenshot. Run the same multi-page sample on your sites with Apogee Watcher’s free domain check, or see pricing for scheduled monitoring.
Methodology
Every Watcher statistic above comes from published Apogee Watcher benchmark posts and states the sample size, collection window, and aggregation method (store-level averages of multi-page Lighthouse lab runs from PageSpeed Insights). Field CrUX origin categories are reported separately when Google returns them. Magento verification required Magento-specific evidence (for example x-magento-* headers, Magento modules, or Magento cookies). Fashion stores were classified as fashion_apparel using business metadata plus homepage title and meta signals after QA. Third-party context (Google thresholds, Shopify theme table, Store2x) is drawn from primary public sources listed below.
