Read-only when subscription ends

// Required access

Required access: All roles · Applies equally within the affected organisation

When the organisation admin’s subscription is no longer active, Apogee Watcher puts that workspace into read-only mode. Every member sees a banner at the top of /admin pages. The goal is to preserve visibility into historical tests while blocking new spend and configuration changes until billing is restored.

Recognise read-only mode

Look for the Read-Only Mode banner on the Dashboard and inner pages.

Your role Banner guidance
Admin (billing owner) Renew or upgrade — Fix billing, View plans & upgrade, or contact support
Manager / Viewer Contact your organisation admin to renew

Read-only mode banner Admin Read-only banner — Admin sees billing actions; other roles see contact-admin copy.

Read-only mode banner Viewer Read-only banner — Viewer on an expired organisation sees contact-admin guidance.

What still works

  • View Sites, Site Pages, Site Test Results
  • Open budgets and alerts lists (existing rows)
  • Download organisation reports when Download is present
  • Switch organisations if you belong to several — Switch between organisations

What is blocked

Create and mutation actions show a tooltip such as "Upgrade your plan to use this feature":

  • Create site, organisation, team invite
  • Discover Pages, manual Run Test
  • Edit budgets, page priority, site frequency
  • Delete organisation reports
  • Edit organisation name

Exact disabled controls match Filament policies for read-only state.

Restore full access

  1. Organisation Admin opens My Account — Subscription and renewal.
  2. Complete payment or upgrade through the offered CTA or support channel.
  3. Reload /admin — banner should clear and actions re-enable.

Managers and Viewers cannot clear read-only themselves — they need the admin to renew.

Differs from Free plan

State Can view data Can create sites Can invite team
Free plan (active) Yes No No
Read-only (expired paid) Yes No No

Free is an intentional tier; read-only is a lapsed subscription on a workspace that previously had paid features.
